This is the ninth edition of the National Accounts Digest prepared by the Regional Statistics Programme of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat. This Digest presents data for the period, 2006-2011 and is an update to the last edition which presented information for the period, 2003-2006 and was produced in 2009. During the interval, the Statistics Programme continued to update its website with data received from Member States for the years beyond 2006.

This is the eighth edition of the National Accounts Digest prepared by the Regional Statistics Sub-programme of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat. This Digest presents data for the period, 2003-2006 and is an update to the last edition which presented information for the period, 2000-2003 and was produced in 2007. During the interval, the Sub-programme continued to update its website with data received from Member States for the years beyond 2003.

The National Census Reports (NCRs) were prepared by demography experts from the Region, with two reviewers from the University of the West Indies (UWI). The reports present data that highlight trends in the demographic transition of the populations of Member Countries, from youthful to ageing population. The reports also make significant connections regarding education, training, economic activity, gender and fertility. The process of preparing the reports also allowed for quality checks on data, with the support of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin American and the Caribbean (UNECLAC). The CARICOM Environment in Figures 2004 report was prepared by the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat, Statistics Sub-programme, using data submitted by Member States and Associate Members, the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), and other regional and national organisations. This publication is the second in its series on environmental statistics for the CARICOM Region, following the first report, which presented data up to 2002. This is the seventh National Accounts Digest to be prepared by the Statistics Sub-programme of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat. The sixth report was published in 2001 and covered the period 1990 – 1999. It was the intention to produce a report every two years and, in the intervals, to continue to collect data from Member States and post these on our web site as soon as they became available. However, while it was not possible to publish the Digests as planned, the Sub-programme has attempted to keep its web site active with current data.
